Communication

CHAPTER FIVE

We understand the importance of good communication. Without good communication, it’s near impossible to stay on top of all the things happening concurrently across the organization. Detailed below are some of our key pillars of internal communication.
MEETINGS
We don’t have meetings for the sake of meetings but have found that as we’re a fully remote team, getting together for a regular video chat keeps everyone in the loop. The frequency and associated reporting of your meetings are dependent on your role within the team.
CHAT
While we like to keep our communication relatively structured, there are times when more timely communication is needed. Whether chatting to an individual or to a specific team, we use Google Chat. Feel free to reach out to one of your teammates if you’re ever in need.
TASKS
When working on a specific task or project, we use Trello on an ‘as-needed’ basis to add comments and suggestions.
PHYSICAL MEET-UPS
Historically, the founders have made a point of meeting physically at least once a year for some in-depth business planning. Moving forward, post pandemic, we hope to make some form of physical meet-up amongst the teams a feature of what we do.
ANNUAL REVIEWS
Our annual employee reviews act as an opportunity for both parties to take a step back and discuss the working relationship. We pride ourselves on open communication at all times, so nothing comes as a shock when your annual review rolls around. An opportunity for each side to discuss what’s working and what could be improved. All in all, certainly nothing to dread.
