CHAPTER TWO

Our story starts way back in 2012. At the time, Sam had just finished his Masters degree while Jon and Ryan were busy running their first business following a few years wasting their time at university. Thankfully, an opportunity presented and the stars aligned! Sam was considering his next move while Jon & Ryan were looking for a solution to solve a booking issue within their sport participation business.

After some back-and-forth via email between Munich and Melbourne, the team combined their powers and got to work on creating a ‘booking system’. After half a year of toil, the product was ready for public consumption. Hooray! But what to name it? After some frightfully horrendous suggestions, (Booking Bird perhaps being rock bottom), Skedda was born!

Since our official launch in mid-2013, we’ve put a lot of love into the product to make it what you see today. But Rome wasn’t built in a day…
Oh, and you’re probably wondering…’Skedda’? Scandinavian for ‘elegant booking software’? After much deliberation, we landed on Skedda - a play on the word ‘schedule’.
